This book is comparable to the "The Two Towers" of the Lord of the rings series because it is kind of slow and is the middle where we are learning all this new information to then set up for the next book. I love this concept and is really what makes this story interesting. I keep wanting to know more about this universe and why the characters are where they are at. I look forward to the next one and then the 4th to finish off the series.<br />

I am trying to be a blogger and not doing a great job, but I am definitely a reader and collector of ideas through blogs. This tutorial I found on another blog but I have recreated it here for my friends.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: large;"><b>Feathered/ Paper Punched Eggs</b></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JMsa16trQQU/TZPOaVvuowI/AAAAAAAAAFc/fANQ4dBaUGI/s1600/DSCN0379.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JMsa16trQQU/TZPOaVvuowI/AAAAAAAAAFc/fANQ4dBaUGI/s320/DSCN0379.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Tools: Decorative Paper (whatever you want your egg to look like), sewing pins, Styrofoam egg(s), circle punch (mine is by Fiskars and hand held but if you have something similar feel free to use it), and Mod Podge (to glue the last circle so you could use regular glue if you don't have mod podge laying around). </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-d6Xcd-OO2bs/TZPOrIsC_LI/AAAAAAAAAFg/CkBS-fo379o/s1600/DSCN0384.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-d6Xcd-OO2bs/TZPOrIsC_LI/AAAAAAAAAFg/CkBS-fo379o/s320/DSCN0384.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
1. Attach the first circle at the very top of the egg, using 4 pins. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bjyuT2qMTgs/TZPO0sjQKdI/AAAAAAAAAFk/OhHGsToXy_U/s1600/DSCN0389.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bjyuT2qMTgs/TZPO0sjQKdI/AAAAAAAAAFk/OhHGsToXy_U/s320/DSCN0389.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
2. Attach the next circle with 1 pin, placed at the very bottom. Layer this round as little or as much as you want just as long as it covers the pins of the first circle. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8qYGc7L5-Ng/TZPO9a3z5mI/AAAAAAAAAFo/ZSaVakn22pY/s1600/DSCN0390.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8qYGc7L5-Ng/TZPO9a3z5mI/AAAAAAAAAFo/ZSaVakn22pY/s320/DSCN0390.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
3. Place the next circle in the round just to the right of the first, placing 1 pin at the bottom of their intersection. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--SCZ-cmGtoc/TZPPX0l7Z8I/AAAAAAAAAF0/vG9zO4-xE7Y/s1600/DSCN0394.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--SCZ-cmGtoc/TZPPX0l7Z8I/AAAAAAAAAF0/vG9zO4-xE7Y/s320/DSCN0394.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
4. Attach the final circle of each round with 2 pins, one on each side, at the bottom of the intersection of each of the circles below it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-frjmyjcp89o/TZPPimt0tBI/AAAAAAAAAF4/DU-hokYMEVM/s1600/DSCN0399.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-frjmyjcp89o/TZPPimt0tBI/AAAAAAAAAF4/DU-hokYMEVM/s320/DSCN0399.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
5. Continue in rounds toward the bottom of the egg. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-l0rtSoCxiXw/TZPPvPWjo3I/AAAAAAAAAF8/7suEGgXKVCU/s1600/DSCN0404.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-l0rtSoCxiXw/TZPPvPWjo3I/AAAAAAAAAF8/7suEGgXKVCU/s320/DSCN0404.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
6. Glue the final circle to the bottom of the egg, covering all pins placed in the last round.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I am in love with the era of strong warrior women in literature but I feel that in comparison with other books of this type the story was lacking the actual fighting and I also felt like it was very much a set up story. There was a lot of background and when it came down to the actual plot line it was accelerated to the point that the final battle took a page. I was invested in the characters but there was not much growth. I do feel that the topics talked about may be a little more for 16 and up instead of 14 like the book says. There is talk about sex and portrays a woman that does not want to marry but is willing to fool around with the man she loves. I probably won't read the sequel to this book but I would recommend it if you want a quick, easy read.<br />

I did not believe her but oh was I wrong! The Hunger Games is now one of my most favorite books ever!!! I read both Hunger Games and Catching Fire in 5 days and I am so excited for Mockingjay. I can't believe how obsessed I have gotten because of these books, way more than Twilight. I bought this shirt the other day and I can't seem to take it off I love it so much.<br />

I haven't read a story in while that makes me love the character and feel for her as much as Hunger Games has. I didn't start reading this book immediately because of all the hype. Everyone said that it was going to be the next Twilight series and I just cringed because books never seem to live up to their names....Hunger Games does!!! I think that a story about a girl that has to do what she can to survive and still keep her humanity intact is something I have been waiting to read for quite some time. Not only does it have appeal for woman but also men can enjoy the rawness that it exudes. Best part of it all is that it starts off as a survival story and ends up being a love story, one that asks some great questions about love and we know if it is truly love that we are feeling. It is now one of my favorites and I can't wait to read Catching Fire. Team Peeta all the way!!!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02605524764718050012noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2621195824448934082.post-17208455344697480802010-08-19T21:00:00.000-06:002010-08-19T21:00:03.113-06:00Eat Pray Love...sounds like a great idea!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTA6m4IhujOOfTA-9qNxJVgUvQHOr-lgCSbUp8_yEQauoK0uBc&t=1&usg=__3-FaCie8R-OCHBxuCvF3d4l1_so=" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTA6m4IhujOOfTA-9qNxJVgUvQHOr-lgCSbUp8_yEQauoK0uBc&t=1&usg=__3-FaCie8R-OCHBxuCvF3d4l1_so=" /></a></div><br />
This afternoon I went to watch Eat Pray Love with my mother in law and I loved it. It is much slower than most films because it is about a woman dealing with her own self-worth. I was able to connect with Liz even though I never have been through what she was going through. I teared up several times so make sure to bring some tissues. For those that don't want to know about the movie don't read any further, just remember that I loved it and you should go with a girlfriend as soon as you can.<br />
This movie starts off with Liz, a woman visiting Bali for her book, meeting with a medicine man. He read her palm and tells her that she is a world traveler, and that she will have two loves in her life, one short and one long. Six months later she is married and asking herself who has she become. She tells her husband she doesn't want to be married anymore and ends up with an actor younger than her. She finally realizes that she has been dating someone since she was 15 and has never given herself time to become herself. Her idea is to get away for a year while she visits Italy, India, and Bali.<br />
In each city she begins to let go of her own baggage while she Eats Prays and finally Loves again. Javier Bardem plays Felipe, a Brazilian guy running away from his own problems in Bali. I hope you all enjoy the film and for those that are members of the church realize how wonderful it is that we have the Gospel in our lives especially through hard times.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02605524764718050012noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2621195824448934082.post-51921957497979863662010-08-18T19:35:00.000-06:002010-08-18T19:35:17.997-06:00Update to the max!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">So an update for the last 5 months because I really am terrible at keeping this updated...</div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

There is something there for everyone, mystery, romance, and fantasy. Lara Lington is a headhunter going to her great-aunt Sadie's burial when all of a sudden Sadie at 23 shows up looking for her lost necklace. It was a story about growing up, betrayal and learning about yourself. I would recommend this to anyone because it is enjoyable and fun. The only negative I could say about it is that it is a slow story all the way through, you just have to push yourself through it. Hope you enjoy it!</div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02605524764718050012noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2621195824448934082.post-2200599994731399002010-02-20T23:06:00.000-07:002010-02-20T23:06:58.366-07:00Valentine's Day may be the new Love ActuallyValentine's Day came off as if it was going to be either horrible or awesome. It ended up being awesome no matter what other people have said. The all star cast just made the movie; every actor got to play a different character than they had before. Unlike "Love Actually" it was much more humorous and lovable. I would watch this over and over again because even though there are a lot of characters you get really close to all of them. <br />
<img height="200" src="http://images2.fanpop.com/image/photos/9400000/Valentines-Day-Movie-Poster-2-valentines-day-2010-9477295-450-681.jpg" width="132" /><br />
One of my favorite storylines was Bradley Cooper and Julia Roberts. The entire time they were in a plane talking but it was hilarious.<br />
<img height="133" src="http://www.collider.com/wp-content/image-base/Movies/V/Valentines_Day/images/Valentines%20Day%20movie%20image.jpg" width="200" /><br />
The movie though revolves around these two best friends and their efforts with love; getting engaged, dating, getting dumped. They really made the movie. I was even more surprised by Ashton Kutcher's performance because it was not over the top like some of his other romantic comedies.<br />
<img height="133" src="http://photogallery.filmofilia.com/data/media/155/valentines_day_002.jpg" width="200" /><br />
This was a super cute movie and would recommend it to anyone 16 and above because of some innuendos and sexual content. Go see it and be happy!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02605524764718050012noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2621195824448934082.post-3232054029563813852010-02-20T22:14:00.000-07:002010-02-20T22:14:50.691-07:00Wolfman or Wolfdud?Kyle and my Valentine plans have always been rather different than most couples; we like to watch scary movies. Wolfman was our pick this year but it turned into kind of a sour note. The beginning was great with great set up and suspense but by the end you could figure out every twist and turn. The cinematography is wonderful keeps you watching every frame. I also quite enjoyed the costuming, being a fan of period pieces it was rich andfull of life. Benicio del Toro proved in this movie what a great actor he is. I would consider checking out more films by and with him. It was great to see Anthony Hopkins in a film again, always the stoic father figure. Emily Blunt also makes a great female character with finally some backbone. I think this is more of a renter but enjoyable in any case.<br />

<div style="text-align: left;">So I just finished going into the darkest mind ever. "Dexter" is a book about a blood splatter specialist that has a love for killing. He is a murderer, but only bad guys of course. It is interesting to delve into the mind of someone who is psychologically evil but trying to be a good guy. He is the guy next door, really, you would have no idea that he kills people for fun. He was trained by his adoptive cop dad how to seem normal, elude the police and still kill bad guys, the guys that the cops couldn't really get a hold of.</div><div style="text-align: left;">All in all it was a very enjoyable book full of mystery and intrigue just make sure you don't have a weak stomach...</div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02605524764718050012noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2621195824448934082.post-37530057576184548642010-02-01T11:13:00.000-07:002010-02-01T11:13:32.501-07:00Sunday's at Tiffany's needs more diamonds<div style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://jenniferelliott14.files.wordpress.com/2009/09/tiffany.jpg" /></div>So I just finished reading "Sundays at Tiffany's" by James Patterson and Gabrielle Charbonnet. It was a smarmy, sappy story that was over-hyped. I was excited at first to see a romance with a little sci-fi to it but it ended up being just another lame romance novel. The concept of a girl's imaginary friend coming back into her life later on but for real is really an interesting concept but it fell apart because I didn't really care that this 30 something Broadway producer had to give up her stuck up, gorgeous boyfriend to be with her "down to earth", gorgeous imaginary friend....sucks to be her I guess. All of this aside, it was an extremely short read so if you want to try it out go for it but it will leave you disappointed and wanting more.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02605524764718050012noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2621195824448934082.post-30326670450770029442010-01-19T21:44:00.000-07:002010-01-19T21:44:06.955-07:00Birthday!Yesterday was my Birthday! I am now two ducks in a pond! My parents came down from Salt Lake on Saturday to celebrate. We had lunch at the Pizza Pie Cafe my dad's new favorite place to eat. He promised us that he would be down once a month to eat there he loved it so much. We then went to watch "The Lovely Bones". Now as most of you know I am pretty forgiving when it comes to movies, as long as I am entertained it's not that big a deal. "Bones" was a story about grieving but honestly there is no resolution just grief. Visually it was a beautiful film. It reminded me of "What Dreams May Come" because it was so visually intriguing. If you really want to watch it, pick it up at your nearest Redbox. On Monday I went and got my hair cut nice and short again...I was so fed up with the long hair. Then Kyle and I went to see "Book of Eli". Can you tell that Kyle and I love movies? I completely recommend "Eli", it was a great movie. Like "Doubt" I can't really tell you much because it has a twist within a twist. It is a post-apocalyptic world where Eli is finding his way west across the wasteland that America has become.<br />
Go to the movies and Enjoy!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02605524764718050012noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2621195824448934082.post-41377454841069053192010-01-15T22:54:00.003-07:002010-01-15T23:05:59.939-07:00UpdateSo obviously since the last time I wrote about our going ons shows you that I am a terrible journal writer. Here is a quick review of the last couple months. October was Kyle's birthday: DISNEYLAND!!! We were able to take a weekend down to Disney and the best part was that his whole family was able to come. This was also a super exciting night for me because I totally saw Kate Walsh walk right by me. If you really want to know the story email me. Halloween was more simple this year, no really huge parties. November was Thanksgiving at my parents house. Jim and Emily also came for the weekend and it was so fun to have them there. Oh yeah, and BYU beat the U of U...that has to be acknowledged. December was crazy. We spent a weekend with my family two weeks before Christmas to celebrate. Then Kyle and I got on the train...that's right we took the train right from Provo to Roseville. We spent almost 2 weeks and it was such a great Holiday season. We had time with the McDonoughs and the Hutchings. Two awesome families of which I am so glad I am now a part of. I remember last Christmas when I met Kyle's family (on the day we got engaged). It was so crazy, so this Christmas was nice and quite. Well my hope is to try and get on here more often even if that means I will need to review books and movies we are watching at least I will post something. I hope everyone had a great New Year and that you are keeping your Resolutions.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02605524764718050012noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2621195824448934082.post-8463597833745843882009-09-06T11:41:00.005-06:002009-09-06T11:57:10.934-06:00Yay Weekend!So this weekend started out with some great accomplishments. Friday night Kyle and I hosted two other couples; Devin and Katrina Cammack and Sean and Kirra Self. We were so excited, ok I was so excited to use our new serving platters and such. We are simple married folk so we had hot dogs and salad. Kirra was so kind enough to bring over mashed potatoes and Katrina made brownies. It was so fun to have an actual married get-together. We talked about marriage stuff and the boys were already talking about having a guys night... Kyle and I hope to have a lot more of these through out the school year.<div><br /></div><div>Last night was the crowning jewel. BYU number 20 in the nation beat out the Oklahoma Sooners number 3. It was amazing but a true test for our players. It was a tough game but we held out strong. I think that the more the teams in the Mountain West Conference do well the more recognition we can get as actual opponents. Thanks to Jeff and Steph Greenley for hosting the game watching at their house. Steph made some amazing taco soup....can't wait for the next away game when we can get some more yummy goodness.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://a.espncdn.com/media/apphoto/ce580c66-80a5-49e5-9d3e-0a2f8944d851.jpg" /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Hopefully for Labor Day weekend we will actually do something worthwhile so we can blog about it some more...</div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02605524764718050012noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2621195824448934082.post-32958197340215778892009-09-02T16:09:00.003-06:002009-09-02T16:34:50.895-06:00Movies and TelevisionSo Kyle and I are kind of obssessed with movies and tv. So not only have we already set up our tv schedule of all the shows we watch but we have also planned out which ones can be watched online so that we won't miss the ones that arn't. One show that we are really excited about is Glee. It will be on FOX wednesday nights. This show is Kyle and I through and through if we could do High School all over again. We would be the musical theatre nerds and proud of it (that is how we met and all). Check out the first episode at <a href="http://www.fox.com/fod/play.php?sh=glee">http://www.fox.com/fod/play.php?sh=glee</a>.<div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://www.fox.com/glee/extras/icons/gif/rachel.gif" /><img src="http://www.fox.com/glee/extras/icons/gif/will.gif" /><img src="http://www.fox.com/glee/extras/icons/gif/emma.gif" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Now we recently decided we were going to save money by going to see movies in the dollar theatre but we could not wait to see "District 9". It was an awesome movie. We left the movie in awe...we couldn't even form words. I have never seen a movie that talks about segregation and what comes from it like this movie. Of course watching such a heavy topic in the guise of a science fiction movie made it a lot more bareable. It is filmed in a documentary type in South Africa. I felt through out the movie that I was almost watching a newscast on CNN. It was rated "R" for language and violence but if you are willing, please go see this movie. It is well worth your time.<img src="http://www.joplinglobeonline.com/blogs/scott_blog/images/district9poster.jpg" /></div></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02605524764718050012noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2621195824448934082.post-62479013217317671992009-09-01T17:48:00.000-06:002009-09-01T18:28:38.545-06:00Starting...<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span>So Kyle and I are going to officially start a blog to document our "Comings and Goings". My darling husband has been really great about keeping our 10 year journal up to date and so I thought the least I could do is keep up a blog. Now that we are talking about record keeping this 10 year journal that we have is super awesome! You can go to www.journal10.com to find out even more, but it really is the best thing for people that hate writing in journals. Check it out.<div style="text-align: center;"> <img src="http://www.journal10.com/MEDIA/J10_cover.jpg" /></div><div><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span>We moved into Wymount Terrace last Friday and are so excited to have our own little place. We were so lucky to spend all summer with Kyle's family but moving in was awesome. I will post pictures of the apartment some other time but until then enjoy and keep your own journal.<br /></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02605524764718050012noreply@blogger.com1
